Washington Butler is a Puyallup native who was awed by arts and culture from an early age. She was a singer in choirs, entered performances in singing contests, and was a part of schools and in community theatre. When she moved into Los Angeles, she studied theater at the University of Southern California and played Belle the princess in Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for a year and one quarter. After dropping out of school, she began searching for an agency to represent her talents and casting for roles in television and film. Butler was a guest on the TV series CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.She was cast in the movie A Couple of White Chicks at the Hair Dresser as well as the 2008 Syfy TV film of horror Flu Bird Horror. Butler was featured that year on the web series Luke 11 17 which was directed by Don Stark. Also, she had a regular role on the web series I love Vampires.Butler was cast as the lead character in the 2010 rape and revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave which was a remake of 1978's famous film of the same name. Butler was initially at first sceptical about the film's violence and nudity but the characters' development as well as the feminist aspect made her reconsider. Butler played Jennifer Hills who is a writer, and she gets victimized by a gang in a cabin. She is the character who seeks revenge against the perpetrators. Produced by Steven R. Monroe the film debuted on the 8 2010. Butler began filming The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller with Estella Warr as well as William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain in November of 2011. This film would also be shot on location in Copenhagen Denmark as well as New York City. In June 2012, she joined Michael Biehn in the Los Angeles filming of Treachery. Butler appeared on the screen in The Demented 2013, a horror film with Michael Welch and KaylaEwell.
